Lovely Land Cruisers

Toyota are celebrating 60 years of their rough, tough Land Cruiser right now and we've got the full range of the famous 4x4 in pictures on TotallyMotor - from 1951 to today - and it's too cool to see how the model has evolved from a tinny little 'jeep' into the huge, 7-seater, desert-crunching behemoth we know today.

Here's a pic of my favourite Cruiser; a 1960s stunner in red, rolling on jacked-up suspension and white, slot-mag-style steel wheels and balloon tyres. Just lush!

And that got me thinking back to boyhood and my (geeky?) love of Tamiya 1/10th scale models. And the one I couldn't afford - the top-of-the-range Toyota Hi Lux kit. Proper scaled down suspension, steel ladder frame chassis; just like the real truck, and detailed FRP body. And then I found this pic of one. Oh man, how sweet is this...
